The Start Dinghy Course takes your through the basics of sailing, working towards the RYA Level 1 certificate.
The Intermediate Dinghy Course will develop those skills learnt on the Start course and introduce you to more advanced skills ultimately leading to the freedom to confidently and independently helm a dinghy in light to moderate winds and is recognized world wide as the minimum required in order to hire a boat.
Included in the package is 6 hours of supervised boat and wetsuit hire for you to use in between the two courses so you can practice and develop all your new skills before moving onto the next part of the course (worth up to £210).
This course covers your first steps of learning to sail and covers all the basics, theory and practical that you need to know allowing you to set up and safely helm your boat in sheltered waters and light winds.
The RYA Level 1 certificate provides only the basics, if you want to sail unsupervised we recommend that you follow up with Dinghy Sailing Improver or why not sign up to the complete Fast Track package.
If you should require further time to gain your certificate, we will invite you back completely free of charge.
We guarantee success!

Gaining a Club Licence is easy - simply sign up and complete an Intro course (Part A) in either windsurfing, sailing or kayaking and you will immediately be eligible for the Bray Lake Licence.
What are the benefits of a Club Licence?
Dedicated coaching sessions on Saturday and Sunday morning (2 hours) - this is an ideal time for the novice sailor or paddler to get in some practise as the Lake tends to be much quieter.
Dedicated instructor on hand - the instructor will ensure you get out on the water safely, with the right equipment suitable for your ability. Safety cover is provided at all times, so if you should find yourself in the reeds, the instructor will be on hand to retreive you and offer further guidance.
Work towards higher levels at your own pace - you can easily gain a level of competency within a couple of sessions, however, it will depend on how frequently you get out on the water and inevitably, weather conditions (bit out of our control!)
Discount on hire rates - there is a 10% discount on hire rates for all those with a Club Licence. You can increase your discount rate by becoming a member of the club.
Discount on shop purchases - whilst you don't need to buy anything to start with, you might like to consider purchasing your own wetsuit, buoyancy aid or wet shoes.
