Dragon Boat Open Day

Ever fancied giving Dragon Boating a try? This SUNDAY, 19 APRIL, Colenorton Dragons who are based at Bray Lake, will be running an Open Day from 1030 – 1230 for anyone interested in the sport. It is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK and requires team work, fitness, technique, strength and a good sense of humour!

You’ll need to wear something light, like a tracksuit, and bring with you a spare change of clothing (just in case) and a towel - Colenorton Dragons will provide everything else. To find out more about the Dragon Boat Club visit or email

Snoopy Found Unharmed!

For those who do not know about Snoopy, this is a small robotic boat controlled by Robin Lovelock who regularly tests his craft on Bray Lake. After another Trans Atlantic attempt in March of this year when the intrepid Snoopy was launched from Weymouth and following a storm, the boat stopped transmitting a signal.  But after several days of searching, Snoopy was found safe and well when it landed on Brighton Beach!  You can read more about the adventures of Snoopy and Robin's GPS tracking at

Head of the Dart SUP Race

There is a team of Bray Lake SUPers heading down to Totnes in Devon on Sunday 12 April to take part in the Head of the Dart SUP Challenge race which follows the River Dart for almost 9 miles to the finish line at Dartmouth.  After an amazing response to the race last year, the number of entrants for this year’s race has been increased to an impressive 300 participants, so if you think you might be up for the Challenge, get in touch and join in the fun!

Instructor Courses 2015

This April we have a few spaces limited on our windsurfing start and intermediate instructor courses, so if you are looking to discover a whole new way of life, or want to take your instructor skills to the next level, give the Centre a call to find out more.  Read more about our Windsurfing Instructor courses. The Intermediate course will run 7-10 April, and the Start instructor course is scheduled for the following week 13-17 April.

For the young aspiring instructor, we also have our incredibly popular Assistant Instructor course, which a part from learning the basics of instructing also gives you the opportunity to come and work at the Lake alongside fully qualified instructors and gain valuable experience – all of which helps in the next step to becoming an instructor but also looks great on your CV.
