There is a choice of beginner courses from a single taster session to an all inclusive Fast Track package designed to get you going quickly with the aim of ultimately being confident to windsurf in varying conditions.

Kayak/Canoe Taster Session
An hour's private tuition will give you a 'feel' for the sport as well as providing an insight into the exciting and dynamic world of paddlesports, and is a great way to dip a toe in the water before moving to the Start Kayaking/Canoeing course.

Intro to Kayaking/Canoeing
BCU 1 Star (Part A)
This is the first half of the Start Kayak/Canoe course which covers:
- Basics of launching and landing
- Paddling forwards
- How to steer, turn and stop
If you enjoy yourself, and to want to continue paddling, sign up for Part B and you will have gained all the skills necessary to paddle on placid waters.

Tried paddling before, but don't have any qualifications?
Paddle with Confidence
BCU 1 Star (Part B)
This course is ideal if you've already tried a bit of kayaking or canoeing and simply want to attain the 1 star level.
- You will develop your paddling strokes
- You will improve your boat handling skills
- You will be taught how prevent capsize
By the end of the session you will be paddling in all directions with confidence.

Get the basics before committing to the full package
Start Kayaking/Canoeing
BCU 1 Star (Part A & B)
This course is an excellent starting point for the complete beginner and will provide you witht the perfect introduction into a diverse water sport. Most of the tuition will on-water where you will quickly learn the basics of paddling, including:
- Launching and landing
- Steering, turning and stopping
- Introduction to various stroke techniques
- Capsize prevention
- Complimentary 2 hours free hire on successful completion
On completion of the course, the BCU 1 Star certificate will enable you to paddle on placid water with confidence. If you are keen to learn how to paddle on moving water you will need to go on to complete the intermediate course, or why not sign up for the full Fast Track package.
If you should require further time to gain your certificate, we will invite you back completely free of charge.

Learn to Kayak/Canoe
Fast Track Package (Parts A-D)
This exciting package will quickly get the complete beginner paddling with confidence.
- Run at weekends on a group tuition basis
- The Start Kayak/Canoe takes your through the basics of paddling, working towards the BCU 1 Star certificate.
- The Intermediate Kayak/Canoe course will develop those skills learnt on the Start course and introduce you to more advanced skills which will ultimately give you the freedom to paddle with confidence on placid and running water.
- Inclusive supervised hire of up to 6 hours plus wetsuit and buoyancy aid hire (worth up to £120).
