This course provides the skills and background knowledge
required to turn the complete novice into a competent
powerboat driver.
The RYA Powerboat
‘Inland’ Level II course can be completed
in 1 day as private tuition or 1½ days in a group.
Included in the course is launching and recovery,
high and low speed manoeuvres, anchoring, picking
up a mooring, ‘man overboard’ and all
of the theory and safety issues needed to make your
driving safe and pleasurable.
This level of competence is the minimum pre-requisite
for most water sport instructor courses.
The level II certificate can be converted to an
ICC at
a later stage.
We guarantee pass at this level so if it felt
that more tuition time is required you will be invited
back, absolutely free of charge!
This course is aimed at the novice or inexperienced
powerboat driver wishing to undertake the Powerboat
Level I & II course and also obtain an ICC
coastal endorsement.
The course
can be completed in 2 days in a group (max 3) or 1½
days as private tuition.
Included in the course is launching and recovery,
high and low speed manoeuvres, anchoring, picking
up a mooring, ‘man overboard’ and all
of the theory and safety issues needed to make your
driving safe and pleasurable.
Half a day of the course will be spent covering
the coastal tehory aspects of the ICC which will
include: tides, chart work, navigation, IRPCS
regulations and meteorlogy. You will then
sit a small question paper on the theory you have
covered.
It is highly recommended that you purchase the
RYA 'Practical Course Notes' booklet prior to the
day as it covers all the theoretical aspects of
the coastal endorsement.
This course provides the skills required when acting
as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a
fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, for racing
or training activities.
The course
follows on from the level II course and is recommended
for any one involved in fleet racing and the provision
of safety cover, as well as for all industry professionals.
