Frostie is the owner of Bray Lake Watersports and is very much involved in every part of the business. In 1985 he came on as General Manager after achieving a BA in Leisure Management Simon has worked hard throughout the years, constantly evolving the business and adding to the great range of facilities on offer. Bray Lake has gone from strength to strength, making it into the multi watersport teaching and club environment you see today.
Simon is a qualified instructor in all the sports we run here and was a key part of the governing body (RYA) that created the FastFWD National Windsurfing Scheme. Simon has travelled the world windsurfing and SUPsurfing with business, pleasure and a bit in between. Frostie’s other love is SUP. This sport has grown at the Lake and has now developed Bray Lake as one of the leading hubs in the UK for SUP, holding the biggest competitive SUP race in the calendar and if that wasn’t enough he is also one of only 5 people in the UK qualified to teach the next generation of SUP instructors.
In his spare time he competes on the SUP national circuit and regularly mountain bikes.
Crocker is our resident megaphone, health and safety expert and tech-phob. He has more than 35 years of experience in windsurfing and has travelled around the world from Barbados to the Middle East teaching courses from start windsurfing to training up new instructors. Any time in between was spent windsurfing himself.
He first arrived at Bray Lake in 1999 and in that time has trained countless people in windsurfing and other watersports. Andy’s qualifications range from RYA Senior Windsurf Instructor - RYA advanced Dinghy Instructor - RYA Powerboat instructor - BC Kayak coach to BSUPA L2 Touring & Racing Instructor, RYA First Aid Instructor and most recently Foiling instructor and when he’s not adding to his extensive list of qualifications he is out mountain biking or running as he is working towards his third marathon.
Scott is our head SUP coach, Store and Ecom Manager. He has been paddling since 2010 and qualified as an instructor in 2012 he runs regular training sessions for sprint, long distance and technique both here and at events around the country.
Scott is a keen SUP racer competing all over the country and in 2017 came first in the GB series final race. He has been part of the backbone of SUP working for Starboard SUP and Red Paddle Co as their Retail and Brand Manager and part of the creation of Central SUP before joining us at Bray lake in 2016.
In his spare time Scott likes to head to the coast and is an accomplished SUP surfer, he regularly mountain bikes and has an impressive tea collection!
Lol is the Lake's PR and Marketing Manager and is the one who tells you about all the goings on from daily updates to the summer courses and weekend river trips. Lol’s background is in luxury retail and events as well as a qualified personal trainer. Lauren is the driving force behind our reduced footprint goals and river cleanups, which she runs monthly.
Outside of work Lol is an athlete competing at sprinting, she is often in a pair of running shoes ready to hit the track. She is also very keen on healthy nutrition and creates some wonderful recipes for the members and staff and has created the new cafe menu. On the water Lol has come to enjoy SUP practising headstands, yoga moves and of course sprinting and when the wind picks up she enjoying learning how to windsurf
Cat is our Office Manager and the glue that holds us all together, she is your go to girl for bookings and sorting out the rest of the team her leadership qualities extend past work where she is also a Guide leader and was Vice President at the Canoe club for the University of Reading.
She is a keen white water Kayaker spending most of her weekends off on an adventure whether its in Dartmoor or the French Alps and qualified as a level 1 instructor in 2017.
Cat took up SUP racing in the recent Summer and Winter series here at Bray Lake and will be attending the bigger distance races in 2018. Any other spare time Cat has she is off travelling the world from Fiji to New York.
