Watersports for Under 15s
Watersports Weeks are for those aged 10-15yrs old
This hugely popular action-packed week will take the complete beginner or the seasoned water sports enthusiast to the next stage. Depending upon your ability, you have a choice of three skill levels - beginner, improver or coaching (advanced).
Tuition is carried out in accordance with the junior RYA and BCU syllabii and your successes will be recorded in your log book along with certificates for levels achieved. Certification is based on competence and whilst we can't guarantee you will achieve a particular level we promise to do our up most to get you as far as possible.

Watersports Week - Beginners
RYA Stage 1 & 2 / BCU Paddlepower 1 & 2
This is ideal for those of you who that have already attended our multi-activity week and want to become more confident at water sports. Its also perfect for those who haven't done water sports before since the course follows the relevant junior schemes from start through to the highest levels attainable.
- Our instructors will introduce you to the exciting sports of sailing, windsurfing and kayaking and help you achieve a degree of competency
- You will follow the RYA Stages 1 and 2 for windsurfing and sailing
- You will follow the BCU Paddlepower stages for kayaking and canoeing
At the end of the week you will receive log books showing your progress, as well as certificates for stages successfully achieved.

Watersports Week - Improvers
RYA Stage 2 & 3 / BCU Paddlepower 3 & 4
Aimed at all watersports enthusiasts who have already attended our Beginner Watersports Week or have attained the required standard in all three water sports.
- A minimum requirement of RYA Stage 2 dinghy sailing and windsurfing
- A minimum requirement of BCU Paddlepower Stage 2
- The course is aimed at fine tuning the skills you already have, introducing you to new skills and techniques
- And working towards the next stage.
Many skills will require further practise and joining After School Club is the ideal way to increase and develop your expertise.
At the end of the week you will receive certificates for stages successfully achieved.

Watersports Week - Coaching
minimum RYA Stage 2 / BCU Paddlepower 3
Taking your skills even further, the coaching week will introduce you to new advanced techniques, performance equipment, and improve your theoretical knowledge in all three sports.
- Minimum skill level of Stage 3 dinghy sailing and windsurfing, and BCU Paddlepower Stage 2 kayaking and canoeing
- Sessions will be suited to both the ability of those on the course as well as weather conditions
- Successfully complete your coaching week and move on to become an Assistant Instructor at Bray Lake
- This course is highly recommended to anyone wanting to work towards instructor level

Get a taste for life as a watersports instructor
Assistant Instructor
(14-16 year olds)
Are you mad keen on water sports? Train to be an Assistant Instructor and work along side our fully qualified instructors during the summer gaining valuable experience as you go. You need to be aged between 14-16 years and ideally hold the following skill levels:
- RYA Stage 3 Dinghy Sailing
- RYA Stage 3 Windsurfing
- BCU 2* Kayking
We will teach you how to assist our team of instructors competently, increasing your sailing, windsurfing and paddling skills whilst introducing you to the world of instructing. You will be introduced to powerboat handling and be taught basic first aid skills.
You will receive a voucher to be used to attend an RYA First Aid session (a day) which will need to be booked separately.
The course is the perfect stepping stone twoards gaining full instructor tickets which will open up a whole new way of life!
