This course will give you a great introduction to the exciting and dynamic sport of windsurfing. Although time will be spent doing land based simulator training, you will quickly be out on the water learning the basic techniques. Time will also be set aside to cover the necessary theory and safety considerations.

• You will learn how to sail across the wind
• You will learn how to tack and gybe, and how to launch and land
• Through a variety of games and fun exercises your windsurfing technique will develop throughout the course
• On successful completion of the Stage 2 certificate you will be competent enough to hire kit and windsurf at Bray Lake in light winds
• You will receive a log book which will show your progress throughout the course, and on successful completion of stages you will receive certificates

This course runs throughout the school holidays and selected weekends in the year.

Building upon the skills learnt on the Start Windsurfing course you will progress through to the next stages, so that ultimately you will be skilful and confident enough to windsurf in more challenging conditions.  During the course you will:

• Re-cap and develop existing windsurfing skills
• Start to learn techniques such as using the harness, beach starts, faster tacking and gybing techniques
• Cover all the necessary theory and safety considerations.

Some of the new skills do require a fair amount of practise to perfect so you may need a bit more time to complete all the stages. To keep moving your skills forward get involved with the After School Club and we'll help you achieve your goals.

This course runs throughout the school holidays and selected weekends in the year.

The coaching week is aimed at dinghy sailors who hold their RYA Stage 3 (or Level 2) certificate. The emphasis of the week will be about consolidating knowledge whilst getting the most enjoyment out of your windsurfing.

Sessions will be suited to both the ability of those on the course as well as weather conditions.

The coaching week only runs during school holidays. The following gives you a flavour of what the coaching week is all about.

• You will be introduced to the 5 elements of the Fastfwd Formula
• You will have the chance to try out some performance boards and sails
• There will be time spent on learning some freestyle manoeuvres
• Time will be devoted to getting a flavour of the exciting world of competitive racing, which will set you up for our racing sessions

The great thing about the coaching week, is that you can repeat it as often as you like, and each time you will learn something new and your sailing skills will just get better and better.
