Watersports Instructor Training at Bray Lake
From total beginner to fully qualified multi-skilled instructor
Life in the watersports industry is undoubtedly a unique experience and there are few other experiences that merge lifestyle and career so completely. With opportunities around the world offering the qualified instructor an unrivalled ability to travel, work and, of course, play, it is easy to see why Watersports Instructors are the envy of many.
Getting the right tuition is the key to achieving your instructor tickets, but at Bray Lake we go further as you will also receive an insight into the retail side and centre management for a working business. As a vibrant, working centre Bray Lake provides students with a unique opportunity to experience what life is really like for a qualified instructor on a day to day basis.
- Instruction - Training is based on a five day week, leaving weekends free to do with as you wish.
- Practise makes perfect - There is always the opportunity to practise skills at the weekends as well as gaining teaching experience alongside Bray Lake instructors.
- Instructor Tickets - Windsurfing Start Instructor, Dinghy Sailing Instructor and Paddlesports Coach
- Pre-requisites included - Powerboat (Level 2 + ICC) tuition and RYA First Aid course
- The extras - An insight into Centre Management, an understanding of Equipment Maintenance and first hand experience of Shop Management
- Small groups - Course numbers are kept small to ensure maximum contact time with the course tutors and also allow maximum flexibility in the programme to meet the changing requirements of the group and every changing weather!
- Opportunities - Bray Lake provides the ideal venue for running instructor courses and there are always opportunities to use your new qualifications as either full or part time staff.
- Experience - Previous water sport experience is not essential althought it will be useful, all we ask for is enthusiasm and dedication, and we can do the rest.
The leisure industry is seeing unrivalled expansion at present and with the increasing health and safety requirements highly qualified instructors are in demand. Employment prospects are excellent, there is without doubt a huge requirement for qualified staff with many bigger holiday companies lining up their staff up to six months before the start of the season.
Our Instructor Training programme has been put together by some of the most experienced industry professionals in the UK. We are not in the market to compete against those organisations that offer more exotic locations to train, what we offer is all about gearing our students to work in the industry, providing them with all necessary qualifications, skills and knowledge, enabling a smooth transistion into the work place.
Course runs over a minimum 14 weeks, contact the Centre for more info. Or better still come in to the Centre and have a chat about your aspirations and we can give you an insight into the package available.
