Board and Sail Hire
An important part of our shop window is our hire and demo fleet. We work closely with a small number of brands and only choose equipment that we have tried and tested and believe are the best examples of what’s currently available. The fleet changes on a regular bases so we can keep the boards current and in the best condition possible. We can’t carry every board and every size but do try to hold the most popular models and sizes and those most applicable to our venue. We also from time to time bring in special guest demo gear as part of specific promotions and can also get hold of specific items for demo if required.
Below you will find details of some of the windsurfing equipment currently available for hire at Bray Lake. If you don’t see something that you are interested in give us a call.
There is always a good range of kit available to suit those new to windsurfing and just getting to grips with the basics as well as the intermediate and more advanced windsurfer.
If you are looking to buy some equipment and want to try before you buy we will refund your hire fee against your purchase, if you prefer to hire on a regular bases rather than own your own then take advantage of our members hire schemes and save money.

The Futura is Starboard's freerace board. Freerace boards are designed to go extremely fast, like slalom boards, but with more user-friendliness and more comfort.
The Starboard Futura's revolutionary design redefines the freerace category: its 15% thinner profile and its wider outline, inspired by the evolution of modern slalom boards, offered the casual freerider a board that was very stable at low speed yet extremely fast and powerful throughout an incredibly wide wind range.
The Carve is always easy to tune and ride. It delivers great performance, all the time. Exciting, fun and light, it remains controllable, comfortable and forgiving: they are the plug and play freeriders.
The Kode Freestyle Waves are Starboard's wave freestyle boards. Their nature is to be aggressive, fast and maneuverable.
Their speed and maneuverability make them good freestylers as well, although windsurfers nowadays may find them too small for anything other than the occasional high-wind move.
Starboard Rio XL, L, M
Bridging the gap between planing boards and light-wind longboards, blurring the line between stable entry level boards and progressive freeride boards, the Rio S, M and L are the boards that cover the widest scope of users for all-wind conditions: windsurfing for everyone, every time and everywhere.
The long and wide shapes of these boards are fast with a smooth glide in light winds. For advanced riders, the longer, narrower shape combined with the inboard heel-recesses and a strong daggerboard allows the board to power upwind off the leeward rail
Perfect for progression and forgiving to intermediates, the Sharks lack no bite in hard-carving super-tight turns. From smooth, graceful cruising to lightning speed runs they’re the perfect platform for fast learners and a lifetime of Freeride pleasure.
Fanatic’s redefining the modern Funboard with a range of extra wide and thin-railed manoeuvre-friendly compact shapes. Supportive wide points - comparable to boards 15 litres larger - and flat decks into thinned-out edges produce a hull capable of extreme, tight-carving performance.
Fanatic Viper 80
The compact retractable daggerboard and GFK Power Box fin allow light wind glide and more advanced Funboard use in one package. A forgiving softdeck pad and nose handle make transport and balance a breeze and the large range of deckplate positions expand tuning scope to match your progress.
RRD FireMove 110, 120
The wide body of these new shapes allows better planing capacity by keeping a relatively short compact shape. Rig a wave sail and you can still plane quicly and manouver like on a freestyle wave board, use a freeride or a two cam sail, and off you go.. full blast at top speed , keeping the same track of those freeriders around you.
